Maria started television at a very early age. A man named Mike Gallagher spotted her one day. Mike worked for WJET-TV in Erie. Mike used Maria Sansone for a children's sport show called Down to Size. Maria had an amazing opportunity where she interacted with famous sports people such as Tommy Lasorda and Michael Jordan.

Maria Sansone also did other sports related shows. One was interviewing players in the Little League World Series. and also the Wide World of Sports. Finally, she also reported at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
